Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Support: Assist in managing and provisioning AWS resources using Terraform. You will contribute to existing modules and help deploy infrastructure changes following our established IaC practices.
- CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance: Support and troubleshoot our CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI. You'll work with development teams to help resolve build and deployment issues and make improvements to existing pipeline jobs under guidance.
- Kubernetes Operations: Deploy applications to our Kubernetes (EKS) clusters. You will be responsible for basic operational tasks, such as checking pod statuses, troubleshooting deployment issues, and reviewing logs.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Monitor the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure using our observability stack (Prometheus and Grafana). You will respond to initial alerts and escalate issues when necessary.
- Learning & Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers to learn our platform architecture and best practices. You'll contribute to documentation and collaborate effectively with development teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud/Systems Administration role.
- Cloud & Containers: Strong, hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. You must have experience deploying and troubleshooting applications in a Kubernetes environment. Familiarity with a major cloud provider (AWS is a strong plus) is required.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Some hands-on experience with an IaC tool like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- CI/CD: Experience with a CI/CD tool such as GitLab CI or Jenkins.
- Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Version Control: Strong understanding of Git and version control workflows.
- Mindset: A strong desire to learn, excellent problem-solving skills, and good communication. You're eager to grow and tackle new challenges.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault.
- Understanding of GitOps principles and tools like Argo CD.
