Job Overview
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure to support application development and deployment. The role bridges development and operations, focusing on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD automation, and system reliability.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Route53, and API Gateway, as well as container orchestration, infrastructure automation, and monitoring systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Automation
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Route53, API Gateway).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Optimize cost, scalability, and availability across AWS environments.
CI/CD Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Automate build, testing, and deployment for backend (FastAPI, Node.js, Python) and frontend (React, Next.js).
- Manage environment segregation (dev, staging, production) and deployment rollbacks.
Containerization & Orchestration
- Develop and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes (EKS) clusters.
- Handle ECS/EKS deployments, scaling policies, and container networking.
- Maintain secure and efficient image registries and container build pipelines.
Monitoring & Reliability
- Set up observability using Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, and ELK Stack.
- Track performance, uptime, and security metrics.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
Security & Compliance
- Configure IAM roles, security groups, and VPC structures for secure access control.
- Manage secrets using AWS Secrets Manager or Vault.
- Enforce SSL/TLS, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies using S3 and RDS snapshots.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with developers to improve deployment strategies and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Document infrastructure configurations, automation scripts, and system diagrams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability roles.
- Strong expertise in:
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Route53, API Gateway), Azure, or GCP
- IaC Tools: Terraform, CloudFormation
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack
- Scripting: Bash, Python, or Go
- Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security.
- Proven ability to automate workflows and manage large-scale infrastructure.
Preferred Skills
- Experience integrating FastAPI, React, or Python-based systems in AWS pipelines.
- Familiarity with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
- Knowledge of microservices, service mesh, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS cost optimization, auto-scaling, and multi-region deployments.
- Exposure to Agile, DevSecOps, and GitOps methodologies.
