Desktop Support Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in-person and log incidents in the ticketing system.
• Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within IT systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for systems and applications.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks.
• Provide technical support for remote employees and troubleshoot VPN and remote desktop issues.
• Assist with IT asset inventory and procurement of hardware/software.
• Document IT procedures, technical issues, and resolutions for future reference.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
• Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed and assist in IT security measures.
• Train end-users on software and hardware functionalities as needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
• Experience: 0-1 year of experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and IT service management tools.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation (preferred).
