Design Manager

The Design Manager, reporting to the Managing Director, is a senior-level role requiring 7-10 years of experience, located in Chakan, Pune. You will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative trailers, tippers, and dumpers, demonstrating strong technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to shape the company's product roadmap for a competitive edge. Your primary duties and responsibilities include: Strategic Product Development: - Develop and implement a long-term product strategy aligned with market trends, customer needs, and company objectives. - Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and technology scouting to identify new product opportunities. - Define product specifications, features, and performance targets. Design Leadership: - Mentor and lead a team of design engineers, offering technical guidance and career development support. - Oversee the design process from concept development to final production while ensuring compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements. Advanced Engineering: - Implement advanced engineering principles and technologies such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), lightweighting technologies, and advanced manufacturing techniques. Project Management: - Manage complex design projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth product development and launch. Innovation and Intellectual Property: - Encourage an innovative culture within the design team. - Identify and protect intellectual property through patents and other mechanisms. Qualifications: - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. PhD is advantageous. - 6+ years of progressive experience in heavy-duty vehicle design, particularly trailers, tippers, and dumpers. - Technical expertise in vehicle dynamics, structural mechanics, materials science, CAD/CAE software, and industry standards. - Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and teamwork abilities.,
