Design Engineer - Renewable Energy-Mumbai

About The Opportunity

• Lead detailed electrical and structural design for solar PV (and hybrid) projects: single-line diagrams, AC/DC layouts, earthing, lightning protection, and LV/MV schematics.
• Produce civil and mounting foundation drawings and perform structural load calculations for module mounting systems and trackers; coordinate with structural engineers for safe designs.
• Prepare energy yield simulations and loss assessments using PVsyst/HelioScope and translate into performance guarantees and PR calculations.
• Create detailed BOQs, tender-ready engineering packages, technical specifications, and As-built/G.A. drawings for procurement and construction teams.
• Conduct site surveys, grid interconnection studies, and liaise with utilities, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical queries during delivery.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (IEC/BIS/MNRE/state utilities); support testing, commissioning, and handover activities with field teams.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering with 3+ years of hands-on design experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects.
• Proven experience with AutoCAD (2D), PVsyst/HelioScope, and creation of single-line diagrams, cable schedules and BOQs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protections, earthing, transformer sizing, MV/LV distribution and grid interconnection requirements in India.
  

Preferred

• Experience with structural analysis for foundations and mounting systems, and familiarity with Revit/BIM, ETAP/DIgSILENT or MATLAB for electrical studies.
• Prior EPC/contracting exposure on utility-scale projects, experience preparing tender packages and coordinating with procurement teams.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, site-first mindset, and a track record of supporting commissioning and resolving O&M issues.
