About the Role

Deputy Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end packaging operations in a fully automated plant, including robotic systems, filling, labelling, and palletizing. The role focuses on production planning, cost control, quality compliance, and efficient use of resources with minimal wastage.

Key Responsibilities:


Packaging Operations & Equipment Management:

  • Oversee auto tin container manufacturing and filling operations, including top collar pasting.
  • Manage robotic pick-and-place systems for pouches, bottles, palletizers, and capping.
  • Supervise perform blowing, capping, labelling, and conveyor-based systems.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of forklifts, BOPT, churn tanks, air conditioning, air compression, and all packaging machinery.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for market complaints and product returns.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements in all packing processes.

Production & Cost Optimization:

  • Plan daily and long-term production schedules for packed products in coordination with operations.
  • Optimize packing costs and prepare SKU-wise cost sheets.
  • Monitor material balances for oil, packaging materials, and related inputs to minimize loss and wastage.

Resource Management:

  • Strategically plan and allocate manpower across shifts and processes.
  • Drive productivity while ensuring minimum wastage and optimal use of materials and machinery.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment breakdowns and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for timely resolution and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years in packaging operations, preferably in FMCG/Edible Oil/Consumer Goods manufacturing environments.


Required Skills

  • Familiarity with automated packaging systems, robotic lines, and labelling equipment.
  • Proficiency in SAP or ERP systems for production and inventory planning.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, quality standards, and CAPA methodologies.
