Kryon Technology Pvt. Ltd. (iLabs Group) is building India’s next-generation integrated electronics manufacturing platform for PCBA and embedded electronics. Our product portfolio spans AC controllers, IDU/ODU boards, BLDC motor controllers, IoT-enabled remotes, Wi-Fi modules, routers, STBs, and a wide range of high-volume PCB assemblies. We are setting up a world-class SMT + assembly facility in Sri City with a strong focus on automation, quality systems, and high productivity. Kryon is a 0→1 high-growth manufacturing startup looking for hands-on leaders who can build processes, teams and systems from scratch in an agile, execution-driven environment.


Role Description:

The Engineering Deputy Manager is responsible for SMT process development, optimization, validation, engineering documentation, DOE, SPC and engineering support for high-volume PCB manufacturing. The role will ensure high-yield SMT production through strong process controls, continuous improvement initiatives, tooling & fixture design, NPI readiness and integration with MES systems. This position requires deep SMT technical capability, strong analytical skills and hands-on problem solving.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROCESS DEVELOPMENT & VALIDATION

• Define and implement optimal process parameters for all SMT equipment: Solder Paste Printer, Pick-and-Place machine, and Reflow Oven.

• Lead process validation activities, including Reflow Profile development and documentation for all new products.

• Design and manage necessary tooling and fixtures (e.g., feeder setups, solder pallets, stencils).

• Develop thermal profiling, stencil selection guidelines and process window documentation for new boards.

OPTIMIZATION & CONTROL

• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize process windows for material and equipment interactions.

• Utilize AOI/AXI data to identify and correct process deviations.

• Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) on critical parameters.

• Reduce SMT defects (tombstoning, bridging, cold joints, insufficient solder).


NPI & DOCUMENTATION

• Generate manufacturing documentation: WIs, SOPs, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts.

• Collaborate with R&D/Design to ensure DFM readiness.

• Release engineering documentation for proto, pilot, mass production.


STRATEGY & BUDGET

• Execute technical strategy for high-yield SMT manufacturing.

• Manage CapEx/OpEx for engineering.

• Lead selection, installation and FAT/SAT of SMT equipment.

TEAM & TALENT DEVELOPMENT

• Hire, train and mentor engineers & technicians.

• Define roles, responsibilities and capability roadmaps.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

• Oversee integration of SMT equipment with MES.

• Act as liaison between Production, Quality and Engineering.


REQUIREMENTS:

• Deep knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-7351, IPC-A-610).

• SMT process controls, SPI, AOI, AXI, reflow profiling.

• DOE, SPC and Six Sigma knowledge.

• CAD, PLM/ERP experience.

• MES/Industry 4.0 exposure.

• Strong leadership & technical communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Tech in ECE/EEE/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.

• IPC/Six Sigma certifications preferred.
