Purpose/Objective


    The Construction Civil Lead is responsible for overseeing all civil engineering activities on-site, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Construction Civil Lead aims to achieve project goals within the defined timelines and budget while delivering high-quality civil structures and systems that support the overall construction objectives.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Construction Civil Lead-PETCHEM Site Operations & Oversight: Achieve seamless execution of civil engineering jobs by overseeing all activities for various plants, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Maintain project timelines and safety standards by monitoring and reviewing progress on civil execution jobs and enforcing strict compliance with safety and quality protocols. Ensure operational efficiency by providing technical support and solutions for on-site challenges, facilitating smooth operations. Project Planning & Coordination: Optimize civil infrastructure development for various process units by planning and coordinating jobs, including foundations, structural installations, and other civil works. Ensure timely execution of civil systems by coordinating with different teams and aligning activities with overall project schedules. Meet project deadlines by assigning and controlling execution jobs for engineers, ensuring tasks are completed within defined timelines. Technical Design Review: Ensure design compliance and quality by reviewing civil designs against project requirements and industry standards. Maintain design accuracy by evaluating technical specifications for civil materials and collaborating with the design team for necessary adjustments. Verify construction integrity through on-site inspections to ensure alignment with approved designs. Compliance, Quality & Safety Management: Ensure safety and regulatory compliance by overseeing all civil activities and promoting a culture of safety on-site. Achieve high-quality standards by implementing quality control measures and ensuring all civil works meet project specifications. Maintain legal and ethical standards by monitoring compliance with local regulations, codes, and company standards in all civil activities. Budget & Cost Control: Manage project costs effectively by monitoring expenditures related to civil works and ensuring adherence to the allocated budget. Ensure cost-effective procurement by identifying and selecting competent vendors for civil execution jobs. Facilitate financial accuracy by certifying contractor bills for completed jobs and ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted for processing. Risk & Change Management: Minimize project risks by identifying potential issues in civil activities and developing effective mitigation strategies. Adapt to project changes efficiently by managing scope, design, or execution adjustments and coordinating with relevant teams for smooth implementation. Maintain proactive risk management by updating risk registers and being prepared for unforeseen challenges. Team Management: Enhance team performance by leading and managing the civil engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Support professional development by mentoring and developing team members, providing technical guidance and feedback. Ensure team alignment with project goals by monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with company standards. Commissioning, Handover & Post-construction Support: Facilitate smooth transition to subsequent construction phases by ensuring timely completion of civil structures and coordinating handovers. Ensure readiness for operational use by supporting the commissioning phase and verifying that all civil systems meet project specifications. Address post-construction issues effectively by overseeing final inspections, completing documentation, and managing any arising problems. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Work Experience (Range of years): Minimum of 12-16 years of experience in executing various civil jobs in large-scale industrial projects Hands-on experience handling at least two similar projects as a Lead Engineer Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) and conducting negotiations with large-scale, high-value vendors
