The Dean – Faculty of Commerce & Management holds a senior leadership role in an academic institution. This position involves strategic, administrative, and academic responsibilities. Below is a structured list of roles and responsibilities for this post: 🔷 Strategic Leadership Provide visionary leadership for the Faculty of Commerce & Management. Develop and implement long-term strategic plans aligned with the institution’s mission and goals. Foster innovation in academic programs, research, and industry collaboration. 🔷 Academic Leadership Oversee curriculum design, academic standards, and pedagogical improvements. Ensure quality assurance, accreditation processes, and adherence to regulatory guidelines (e.g., UGC, AICTE, NAAC). Promote interdisciplinary programs and continuous curriculum development. 🔷 Faculty Management Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop faculty members. Facilitate faculty research, publications, and participation in academic forums. Encourage a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration. 🔷 Student Development Enhance student experience through academic and career counseling. Support internship programs, industry projects, and placement opportunities. Address student grievances and promote student welfare and inclusivity. 🔷 Research & Innovation Promote high-impact research, case studies, and publications. Facilitate research grants, conferences, seminars, and collaborative projects. Build research clusters and centers of excellence in key areas of commerce and management. 🔷 Industry & Community Engagement Establish partnerships with industry, government, and non-profit organizations. Encourage executive education, consulting, and knowledge-sharing platforms. Represent the faculty in external events, conferences, and policy dialogues. 🔷 Administrative & Financial Oversight Manage the faculty’s budget, resource allocation, and infrastructure needs. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and governance norms. Prepare reports, evaluations, and strategic documents for management and accreditation bodies. 🔷 Technology & Digital Transformation Lead adoption of digital tools in teaching, learning, and administration. Support online and hybrid learning models. Encourage data-driven decision-making and digital literacy. 🔷 Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Lead internal reviews and institutional audits. Implement feedback mechanisms for faculty, students, and stakeholders. Promote best practices and benchmark against national and international standards.
