Job Description

Role: Database Administrator (SQL Server / MySQL) – 5–6 Years Experience

Purpose:

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain
SQL Server
and
MySQL
databases in production and development environments.
Design, manage, and maintain
database schemas
,
tables
,
indexes
, and
relationships
for optimal performance.
Perform and optimize
SQL DML operations
(SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) across large datasets.
Develop, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures (SPs), functions, and triggers
to support business processes and applications.
Conduct
stored procedure optimization
, query tuning, and performance troubleshooting using execution plans, indexing strategies, and statistics analysis.
Implement robust
backup, restore, and disaster recovery
strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
Manage
data retention, archiving, and purging
policies for large transactional systems.
Monitor and tune database
performance, capacity, and resource utilization
; proactively resolve performance bottlenecks.
Configure and manage
replication, clustering, and failover
mechanisms to support high availability and disaster recovery.
Oversee
database security
,
access control
, and
user permissions
to enforce compliance and data protection.
Use
automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
for consistent, version-controlled database deployments.
Collaborate closely with
development and DevOps teams
in an
Agile
environment for integrated data solutions.

Must-Have / Key Skills

Strong expertise in
SQL DML operations
(SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE).
Proficiency in
T-SQL / PL-SQL programming
and
stored procedure (SP) writing and optimization

Deep understanding of
query performance tuning

indexing

execution plan analysis

Hands-on experience with
database backup, restore, and recovery
strategies.
Strong understanding of
database architecture, replication, and clustering

Knowledge of
