You will manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems to ensure high availability and reliability. This role is perfect for a skilled professional with a passion for database technologies who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our engineering and data teams to support our application and AI initiatives, ensuring our data is always accessible, performant, and secure. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain database software (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real-time, providing proactive and reactive data management support. Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Manage database security, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability patching. Perform query tuning, performance optimization, and indexing to improve application response times. Collaborate with developers on schema design, data modeling, and database architecture. Automate routine database administration tasks using shell scripts or Python. Maintain comprehensive documentation of database environments, configurations, and procedures. Preferred Qualifications 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role. Strong Expertise in SQL & NoSQL: Proficient with relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. Advanced skills in writing complex queries, joins, functions, and performance tuning. Cloud Database Experience: Proven experience with managing databases on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (Cloud SQL, Spanner). Experience with AWS (RDS) or Azure is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficient in Linux environments and shell scripting for automation. Experience with version control systems like Git. Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools (e.g., pgAdmin, MySQL Workbench, Prometheus/Grafana). Basic programming skills in Python or another language for scripting and automation. Excellent in Stakeholder communication. Must be a strong team player with a passion to solve customer problems. Good to have relevant professional certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Database Engineer). Experience with large-scale database migration projects.
