Job Description

Job Summary

Database Administrator

Roles & Responsibilities

Design & develop database solutions, schemas, tables, views & indexes
Implement data models, data dictionaries & documentation
Install, configure & maintain DBMS and related software
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues & optimize SQL queries
Implement
backup, recovery & high-availability solutions
Manage
data integration & migration
projects
Collaborate with developers, analysts & stakeholders to align with business needs
Provide technical guidance to junior team members

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science/IT
(Master’s preferred)
7+ years
of experience in database development/administration, with 3+ in a senior role.

Essential Skills

Strong SQL programming, design & optimization
Knowledge of database modeling (ERD, normalization)
Familiarity with security best practices & compliance
Strong troubleshooting, communication & leadership skills

Preferred Skills & Experience

Expertise in
RDBMS
(PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) &
NoSQL
(MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
Database design & optimization using
ERWin, ER/Studio, Lucidchart
Cloud databases (
Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL
)
Query optimization with
SQL Profiler, EXPLAIN ANALYZE
Indexing tools (
pgTune, SQL Server Database Tuning Advisor
)
Replication & high availability (
PostgreSQL streaming replication, MySQL replication, SQL Server Always On
)
Database security (encryption, access control, auditing)
Data migration & ETL (
Apache Kafka, NiFi, AWS Glue
)
Data warehousing (
Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake
)
Administration tools (
