Data Engineer

with strong expertise in

Teradata ETL

and

SQL development

to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient ETL workflows and data pipelines to support business analytics and reporting needs.You will work closely with data analysts, BI developers, and business teams to ensure high-quality data integration, transformation, and delivery across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Teradata ETL tools and BTEQ scripts.
  • Write and optimize complex Teradata SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Implement and manage data models, schemas, and tables to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning for ETL processes.
  • Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate data processing and job scheduling.
  • Collaborate with business and BI teams to define data requirements and deliver accurate, reliable datasets.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all environments.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure timely resolution of ETL failures or data discrepancies.
  • Work in agile environments and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering processes.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Teradata ETL development and BTEQ scripting.
  • Expertise in Teradata SQL—query optimization, joins, subqueries, and performance tuning.
  • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL best practices.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Unix shell scripting for automation and job control.
  • Experience with data modeling and semantic layer design is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data validation, and error handling frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup and collaborate across distributed teams.

Good To Have

  • Knowledge of BI/Reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) and data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Control-M, etc.).
  • Understanding of semantic layers, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
