Oversee the design, setup, and maintenance of data centre facilities, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and cabling.
Manage power distribution, cooling systems, and environmental controls to ensure optimal performance.

Operations & Monitoring:

Ensure continuous monitoring of data centre operations to maintain uptime and reliability.
Implement proactive maintenance schedules and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Oversee IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, including incident, problem, and change management.

Security & Compliance:

Enforce physical and logical security standards for data centre access and operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, etc.) and government regulations.

Capacity Planning & Optimization:

Monitor resource utilization and plan for capacity expansion in line with organizational growth.
Recommend and implement infrastructure upgrades to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Virtualization & Cloud Integration:

Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.) and hybrid cloud environments.
Support migration strategies to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) where applicable.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

Design, implement, and test disaster recovery (DR) and high-availability (HA) solutions.
Develop backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical business data.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional IT, networking, and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless operations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and contractors.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
5+ years of hands-on experience in data centre management and operations.
Expertise in data centre design, operations, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, networking, and storage systems.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, DCIM solutions).
Familiarity with compliance frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, Uptime Tier certifications, TIA-942, HIPAA, GDPR).
Solid understanding of disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and ITIL processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
