About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong and hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer (Technical Lead) who can take complete ownership of all cybersecurity operations within the organization. This role requires a professional who can lead the internal cybersecurity team, guide clients on all technical and network security aspects and represent the company as the technical authority in all cybersecurity-related engagements.
The ideal professional should have deep hands-on experience in cybersecurity tools, network and system security, compliance implementation and incident handling — essentially, someone who can confidently address any cybersecurity issue that arises internally or from clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Leadership & Team Guidance
- Act as the technical lead for all cybersecurity projects and operations.
- Guide and mentor the cybersecurity team in daily monitoring, incident analysis and technical troubleshooting.
- Review technical deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
2. Client Support & Technical Engagement
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for client interactions.
- Lead technical discussions and scoping calls to understand client requirements.
- Provide recommendations and best practices to improve client cybersecurity posture.
- Assist clients in implementing and managing secure configurations across their infrastructure.
- Resolve client-reported security issues effectively and efficiently.
3. Security Operations
- Guide the SOC team in implementation, log monitoring, alert triaging and incident response.
- Provide technical direction on analysing SIEM alerts, firewall logs and endpoint activities.
- Review incident handling processes and ensure correct escalation procedures are followed.
- Continuously improve operational processes and detection mechanisms through technical oversight.
4. Compliance & Governance Support
- Guide clients in preparing for and achieving compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, RBI, NIST, SOC 2 and others.
- Review, update and help to implement cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures.
- Conduct security gap assessments and provide actionable remediation plans.
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness training sessions for employees and clients.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and responsibility across the organization.
5. Network & Infrastructure Security Advisory
- Analyse client network and infrastructure setups and provide security recommendations.
- Guide clients on firewall configurations, segmentation, VPNs, and access control best practices.
- Suggest improvements in server, endpoint, and cloud security configurations.
- Ensure clients’ environments align with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.
6. Representation & External Engagement
- Represent the organization in cybersecurity conferences, client events, and technical presentations.
- Deliver technical demonstrations, awareness sessions, and webinars as required.
- Act as the technical faceof Proven Infosec in industry forums and client interactions.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review technical reports, incident summaries, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain detailed records of configurations, incidents, and recommendations.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with client and audit standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, endpoint protection, and cloud security.
- Deep understanding of information security frameworks and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for client and public interactions.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- CEH, CISA, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or any equivalent certification.
