Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented

Business Analyst – Cyber Defense

to support cybersecurity initiatives with a focus on

Cloud Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and compliance frameworks (NIST, CSF, ISO, CIS)

. The role requires working closely with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure that Shell’s cloud-hosted environments are secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and business teams to gather, analyze, and document security requirements.
Assess and document current cloud security controls and IAM processes across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
Conduct gap analysis against NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST 800-53, and other security standards.
Translate business needs into technical requirements for cloud security and IAM solutions.
Support development and implementation of cloud security policies, IAM governance, and compliance best practices.
Assist in risk assessments, threat modeling, and cloud security posture evaluations.
Work with IAM teams to improve access governance, RBAC, PAM, and identity lifecycle management.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership, auditors, and compliance teams.
Monitor regulatory and compliance changes and assess their impact on cloud security and IAM.
Support project management deliverables: scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.

Mandatory

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
5–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in cybersecurity or cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hosting models.
Hands-on experience with IAM tools such as Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint, CyberArk.
Familiarity with NIST frameworks (CSF, 800-53, 800-171) and cloud security standards (CIS, ISO 27017).
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, frameworks, and tools with experience working in Agile projects.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

Optional

Agile certifications/trainings.
CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA certification.
Lean Practitioner training/experience.
