Cyber Security Intern

Position Overview
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Interns to join our team. This internship offers hands-on exposure across key areas of cybersecurity, including Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT), and Security Operations Center (SOC). You will gain practical experience with leading security frameworks, compliance initiatives, and real-time monitoring, while working closely with experienced professionals. Successful candidates may receive a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) upon completion of the internship.

Key Responsibilities

Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC):

• Assist in maintaining and updating compliance documentation aligned with standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, NIST, HIPAA).
• Support planning and execution of internal and external InfoSec audits.
• Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity laws, frameworks, and regulations.
• Track compliance tasks and support ongoing initiatives.
• Participate in risk assessments, gap analyses, and control evaluations.
• Draft and update internal policies, procedures, and control documentation.

Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT):

• Support vulnerability scanning and penetration testing activities.
• Assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking security weaknesses.
• Work with teams to validate fixes and remediation efforts.
• Prepare reports under guidance of senior security testers.

Security Operations (SOC):

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools.
• Assist in incident documentation and remediation tracking.
• Support in incident response processes and reporting.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to identify and escalate security incidents.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, NIST, HIPAA).
• Familiarity with security tools (vulnerability scanners, firewalls, SIEMs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Eagerness to learn and proactive, responsible work ethic.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Internship, academic project, or coursework in cybersecurity, risk management, or compliance.
• Understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to GRC tools, audit reporting, or penetration testing methodologies.
