Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer (Junior) to join our in-house engineering team. This role focuses on securing internal systems, applications, infrastructure, and AI platforms. The position is hands-on and execution-driven, emphasizing practical security implementation over theoretical or purely compliance-based work.

The role is suitable for final-year students, fresh graduates, or candidates with up to one year of relevant experience who are looking to build strong foundations in real-world cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

 Assist in securing web applications, backend services, and APIs
 Perform basic vulnerability assessments and security reviews Identify and report common security issues (OWASP Top 10, misconfigurations, access control flaws) Support secure deployment and configuration of systems and services Monitor system logs and alerts for suspicious activity Participate in threat modeling for new features and internal tools Assist with incident response activities and post-incident analysis Maintain internal security documentation, checklists, and reports Collaborate with backend, DevOps, and AI engineers to implement security controls Apply and promote secure coding and secure design practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

 Basic understanding of web security fundamentals (HTTP, cookies, sessions, authentication)
 Awareness of common vulnerabilities such as XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, IDOR, and authentication flaws Familiarity with Linux operating systems Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, C/C++, or similar) Basic understanding of REST APIs Familiarity with relational or non-relational databases Knowledge of Git and version control workflows

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

 Exposure to penetration testing labs or CTF platforms (TryHackMe, Hack The Box, etc.)
 Experience testing APIs or web applications using tools such as Burp Suite or Postman Basic knowledge of Docker and containerized environments Introductory understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) Fundamentals of encryption, hashing, and TLS
