Security Lead (India Ops)

Overview:

We are seeking an Interim Security Lead for Client’s India operations in the pre-funding phase. This is a lean, probationary role designed to establish Client’s foundational information security and IP protection. The Security Lead will implement practical safeguards, enforce governance, and act as the bridge between India Ops and Dubai HQ on all security matters. Post-funding, this role may evolve into a senior CISO track as responsibilities expand globally.

Core Responsibilities

* Implement MFA, Vault/KMS, and secure Client-Vault for sensitive documents.
* Enforce onboarding/offboarding security checklists; ensure access is revoked within 1 hour.* Deploy basic DLP rules to prevent mass downloads and leaks.* Maintain incident logs and lead quarterly tabletop drills.* Collaborate with COO India and Legal Head to enforce vendor NDAs and access controls.* Provide weekly compliance/security reports to Founder and Dubai HQ.* Train India team members on data handling and confidentiality policies.

Required Skills & Background

* 3–6 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or cloud security.
* Hands-on experience with Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 security, IAM, and cloud-native security.* Familiarity with DLP tools, SIEM basics, and device security.* Experience with IP protection or R&D/startup environments preferred.* Strong communication skills; able to operate as a solo security lead without a team.* Comfortable working in a lean, startup-style environment.

Compensation & Structure:

* Salary Estimate: ₹60,000 – ₹90,000 per month (pre-funding budget range).
* Opportunity to scale into a Global CISO role post-funding, with market-aligned compensation.

* 100% MFA adoption within first 7 days.
* All sensitive documents migrated to Client-Vault with correct access rights.* 100% onboarding/offboarding security compliance.* Zero unauthorized data export incidents.* Weekly compliance/security reports delivered consistently.
