Cost and Estimation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation & BOQ Development

• Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and rate analyses for commercial interior projects.
• Review architectural, MEP, and ID drawings to derive accurate quantities.
• Maintain updated databases of material rates, labour charges, and vendor pricing.

2. Tendering & Proposal Support

• Work closely with the Business Development and Project teams to prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Analyse tender documents, specifications, and scope of work to identify cost impacts and deliverables.
• Ensure estimates align with project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.

3. Vendor & Material Costing

• Source and verify quotations from vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor pricing for competitiveness and accuracy.
• Support procurement with cost benchmarks and price negotiations.

4. Project Cost Control

• Provide cost inputs during planning and execution phases.
• Track budgeted vs actual costs and highlight variances.
• Assist project managers with value engineering options to optimise cost without compromising quality.

5. Collaboration & Documentation

• Coordinate with design, execution, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project scope and costing.
• Maintain updated cost sheets, estimate logs, and documentation for all bids and projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Quantity Surveying (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in cost estimation for interiors, fit-out, or Design & Build projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tendering, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of market rates.
