About the Function Mumbai Mirro r is a popular English-language tabloid published by The Times Group, known for its sharp focus on Mumbai’s local news, civic issues, and urban culture. Launched in 2005, it gained a strong readership for its bold, street-smart journalism. After halting its print edition in 2020 due to the pandemic, Mumbai Mirror is being relaunched as a daily print newspaper on June 15, 202 5, while also strengthening its digital presence About the Position This role demands a sharp eye for detail, excellent command of language, and the ability to refine stories while preserving the writer’s voice. At Mumbai Mirror, the Copy Editor ensures that all content is grammatically sound, factually accurate, and stylistically aligned with the publication’s standards. From rewriting leads to crafting compelling headlines and ensuring page clarity, the Copy Editor works at the heart of editorial operations — collaborating closely with reporters, designers, and senior editors to deliver clean, crisp, and engaging copy under tight deadlines. This position is ideal for someone passionate about language, meticulous about detail, and committed to upholding journalistic integrity in a fast-paced print environment Roles & Responsibilities Edit news stories, features, and reports with speed and precision, ensuring grammatical accuracy, factual correctness, and readability Ensure alignment with the publication’s editorial style, tone, and standards Write crisp and compelling headlines, captions, and blurbs that enhance reader engagement Coordinate with reporters, designers, and senior editors to finalize pages for print Perform fact-checking and maintain a high level of editorial integrity and accuracy Manage multiple editions and tight deadlines without compromising on quality Suggest and implement improvements in copy flow and structure where needed Qualifications & Skill Required Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature, or related field 3–6 years of experience as a copy editor/sub-editor in a reputed print publication Strong command over English — grammar, syntax, and news writing/editing style Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines Familiarity with InDesign or other editorial software is an added advantage A keen eye for detail, current affairs awareness, and a strong news sense What is in it For You?
