Job Description Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. The ideal candidate will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure Networking services. You should be a problem solver and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Career Level - IC5 Responsibilities As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering experience. Required Qualifications 10+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment Experience driving feature design reviews, documentation and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process Strong development experience in Java, C++, C#, or similar OO languages Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals Strong knowledge on networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures Experience and understanding of Firewall, DDoS or similar security and compliance knowledge Experience in analysing, mitigating and rootcausing complex customer issues. Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle) Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules About Us As a world leader in cloud solutions, Oracle uses tomorrow’s technology to tackle today’s challenges.
