Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities
Monitor, review, and ensure compliance with US transportation regulations, including FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and other relevant agencies.Verify carrier documents: authority, insurance, safety ratings, agreements, and maintain updated compliance files.Conduct routine audits of loads, invoices, PODs, rate confirmations, and carrier onboarding records.Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and accounting teams to ensure smooth and compliant freight movement.Track regulatory changes and update internal SOPs accordingly.Manage and monitor carrier onboarding portals and compliance software.Investigate compliance issues, report violations, and recommend corrective actions.Prepare periodic compliance reports and dashboards for management.Support claim handling for lost/damaged freight by ensuring proper documentation is filed.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree (preferred) or relevant experience in logistics/transportation.Strong understanding of US trucking logistics, FMCSA rules, carrier safety standards.Excellent documentation, auditing, and record-keeping skills.Sharp eye for detail—spotting compliance gaps before they cause trouble.Good communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.Familiarity with TMS systems, carrier onboarding tools, and spreadsheet management.Preferred SkillsExperience with US-based freight brokers / 3PLs.Knowledge of safety protocols and risk-management processes.Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment without losing accuracy.
