Commodity Manager (Indirect Materials/Resale)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The responsibilities of the role are to develop & qualify new components, processes and suppliers, supporting issues with current production, out sourcing, increase capacity, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance. Make all necessary coordination between departments to ensure flawless launches with suppliers.

  The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in India. The specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

  • Responsible for all matters related to cost of supply for assigned categories. Establish and implement strategies and lead procurement activities (sourcing events, negotiations, data analysis, projects, contract lifecycle management, supplier development and selection, data management, etc.) to optimize costs, working capital, and terms; and minimize financial and operational risCoordinate with Stakeholders for all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for child Parts.
  
  
  • Assure material flow of assigned categories into respective Gates sites. Responsible for supplier performance, capacity, and to develop poor performing suppliers. Implement and maintain KPIs to monitor and improve performance of managed supply base. Conduct recurring business reviews with assigned suppliers. Ensure suppliers are compliant to Gates supply agreements and requirements.
  
  
  • Build stakeholder alignment to support initiatives. Identify and develop suppliers to support new product development.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• The incumbent reports to The incumbent reports to Director Sourcing, East Asia & India and support him in all day to day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

• This person must have at least 10 years hands on experience in Sourcing Area.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
  • Total work experience of 12 years
