Job Description

A Collection Team Leader plays a key role in managing a team responsible for recovering outstanding debts from customers or clients. This role involves both leadership and operational responsibilities within a credit or collections department. Here’s a breakdown of the Collection Team Leader role: Team Management Supervise and support a team of collection agents or officers. Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for the team. Monitor performance and provide coaching or training as needed. Debt Collection Strategy Develop and implement effective collection strategies. Monitor overdue accounts and ensure appropriate follow-up actions. Handle escalated or complex collection cases. Reporting and Analysis Prepare regular reports on team performance, collection rates, and aging analysis. Use data to improve strategies and decision-making. Customer Communication Ensure the team maintains a professional and respectful approach when contacting customers. Oversee customer interactions for compliance with legal and company standards. Compliance and Documentation Ensure all collection activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards. Maintain accurate records of customer contact and payment arrangements. Collaboration Work closely with the credit, sales, and finance departments. Provide feedback and insights to improve credit policies or risk management. Skills and QualificationsStrong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and negotiation abilities Analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with debt collection laws and regulations Proficiency in collection software or CRM systems Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
