Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned and dynamic professional to lead our Commercial Banking – Medium Enterprise business as a Cluster Business Leader. This is a team handling leadership role, responsible for managing clients with turnover ranging from ₹100 to ₹500 crore, with a focus on building a high-quality asset book, mobilizing liabilities, and ensuring comprehensive cross-sell of banking products.

The ideal candidate will bring strong credit acumen, deep financial knowledge, and extensive market experience in Chennai, with a proven track record of driving team performance and maintaining robust portfolio hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of Relationship Managers and Credit Officers across the cluster.

• Drive acquisition and relationship management of medium enterprise clients (₹100–₹500 Cr turnover).

• Build and grow the fund-based and non-fund based asset book with a focus on quality and profitability.

• Ensure liability mobilization and cross-sell of products including CMS, FX, trade, insurance, and investment products.

• Monitor and maintain portfolio quality, ensuring adherence to internal risk and credit hygiene standards.

• Conduct credit assessments, support CAM preparation, and ensure timely credit approvals and renewals.

• Develop strong market connect in Chennai and surrounding regions, leveraging existing network for business growth.

• Coach, mentor, and guide the team to deliver business objectives and ensure high levels of engagement and productivity.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders including Risk, Operations, Product, and Compliance for seamless delivery.

Key requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial or mid-market banking.

• Deep understanding of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk assessment.

• Strong market knowledge of the Chennai region and established local client relationships.

• Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and driving performance.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
