The Cloud Solution Architect – Managed Services serves as a fractional CTO for customers, providing tactical and strategic thought leadership, design and optimization recommendations, cloud best practices, and governance advice.
They build deep customer relationships, understanding unique business and technology needs to deliver impactful, long-lasting recommendations. The role fosters a proactive environment through reviews, training, and architecture reviews. This role requires extensive experience in enterprise architecture, strategy, and thought leadership, coupled with hands-on technical skills on cloud.
- Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
Thought Leadership & Strategic Guidance
- Provide customers with expert guidance on cloud strategy, architecture, and best practices, aligning cloud solutions with business objectives.
Design & Optimization Recommendations
- Analyze customer cloud environments and recommend design improvements and optimizations to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Cloud Best Practices & Governance
- Educate customers on cloud best practices, governance frameworks, and industry standards, ensuring secure and compliant cloud deployments.
Proactive Reviews & Training
- Conduct proactive reviews of customer cloud environments, identify potential risks and areas for improvement. Deliver training sessions to customers on cloud technologies, services, and best practices.
Architecture Reviews
- Perform comprehensive architecture reviews, evaluating the design and implementation of customer cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
Customer Affinity & Relationship Building
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for their cloud needs. Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business and technological requirements.
Hands-on Technical Expertise
- Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing solutions within customer cloud environments.
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor and collaborate with Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers within the pod, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Behavioral Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Educational Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification - mandatory.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on Cloud Platform Managed Services.
- ITIL framework is Must have.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert) - highly desirable.
- ITIL Foundation and FinOps Certified Practitioner certifications - highly desirable
- Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience 9-15 Years(10+ years) in managing and supporting enterprise-level cloud environments across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on Cloud Platform Managed Services.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation projects.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure components, including networking, storage, compute, security, and databases.
- Expertise in cloud automation, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools(Terraform, PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building abilities.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage technical teams while driving high performance and collaboration.
