Hiring: Chief Sustainability Officer (Contractual Role | Ahmedabad, Gujarat)

Contract: 3 years + high possibilities of Extension

Location: Ahmedabad

BUDGET: 50 LPA + Car + Government allowances

Role Overview:

The Chief Sustainability Officer will be responsible for integrating sustainability across operations, aligning ESG initiatives with long-term business strategy, and creating measurable environmental and social impact.

💼 Eligibility Criteria:

• Qualification:

  BE/B.Tech (Mining / Environment / Metallurgy) with MBA or equivalent certification in Sustainability Management / Leadership Programs

• Experience:

  20–25 years in leadership or strategic sustainability roles, preferably in mining, natural resources, or heavy industries

• Skills:

• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, regulatory compliance, and sustainable supply chains
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in digital tools and sustainability reporting platforms

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop Sustainable Business Strategy

• Define long-term sustainability roadmap and growth strategy.
• Drive initiatives for carbon reduction, biodiversity conservation, mine reclamation, and post-mining land use.
• Promote renewable energy adoption and low-carbon technologies.
• Lead horticulture, afforestation, and eco-restoration initiatives.

2. Build a Sustainable Value Chain

• Integrate sustainability across all business processes and the supply chain.
• Implement circular economy practices — zero waste, reuse, and by-product valorization.
• Address Scope 3 emissions through collaboration with partners and vendors.

3. Engage with External Ecosystem

• Represent the organization in policy and ESG dialogues.
• Engage with investors, ESG rating agencies, and financial institutions for sustainable finance.
• Lead transparent ESG disclosures and participation in global sustainability forums.
• Drive impactful CSR and community development initiatives focused on livelihood creation and environmental restoration.

4. Drive Internal Transformation

• Define ESG KPIs and cascade them across business units.
• Integrate sustainability metrics into performance management.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to embed sustainability culture.
• Report sustainability performance directly to the Board and leadership team.
