Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Leadership:

  • Lead the clinical team, ensuring high standards of ophthalmic care and patient safety.
  • Support clinical protocols, quality benchmarks, and evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of new technologies and techniques in ophthalmology.
  • Review complex cases and provide guidance when required.

2. Operational Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the hospital including OPD, OT, IPD, diagnostics, and pharmacy.
  • Monitor and improve patient flow, wait times, and service delivery standards.
  • Coordinate with support departments (HR, Finance, IT, Admin) to ensure smooth functioning.

3. Business & Strategic Planning:

  • Work with senior leadership to plan and execute growth strategies (footfall, revenue, patient retention).
  • Monitor KPIs including patient volume, revenue, AR days, cost control, and profitability.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for service expansion.

4. Team Management & Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and manage staff grievances and retention.

5. Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with NABH or other relevant accreditation standards.
  • Monitor infection control, OT protocols, and audit clinical documentation.
  • Ensure legal and ethical standards are upheld in patient care and hospital operations.

6. Patient Experience & Community Engagement:

  • Enhance patient satisfaction through effective grievance redressal and service excellence.
  • Organize eye camps, CME programs, awareness drives, and CSR initiatives.
  • Build strong community relationships and referrals with local GPs and optometrists.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Clinical expertise in Ophthalmology (an active license is preferred)
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Communication and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with hospital software/EMR systems
