Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive CCTV Technician to join our field service team. This is a hands-on role that requires a professional with expertise in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of video surveillance systems. The ideal candidate will be a field-based expert, responsible for delivering excellent service and ensuring our clients' security systems are fully operational and reliable. Key Responsibilities Installation & Configuration: Install and configure CCTV systems, including IP cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related network equipment, ensuring optimal placement and system performance. Site Surveys: Conduct on-site surveys to assess client needs, determine the best camera locations, and plan for cabling and equipment requirements. Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with CCTV hardware (cameras, cables, power supplies) and software (video management systems, network settings) in a timely manner. Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on client systems, including cleaning cameras, checking connections, and updating firmware to ensure system longevity and reliability. Cabling & Wiring: Competently run, terminate, and test various types of cabling, including coaxial and network cables (Cat5e/Cat6), to industry standards. Client Communication & Training: Clearly communicate with clients to understand their needs, explain technical issues, and provide basic training on how to use their new or repaired systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, technical reports, and inventory logs for all installation and maintenance activities. On-Call Support: Be available for on-call duties to respond to urgent service requests and system failures. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of CCTV systems in a field-based role. Experience with both analog and IP surveillance systems is a plus. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CCTV components, networking principles, IP addressing, and video management software (VMS). Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and fix technical faults efficiently. Physical Fitness: Ability to work in various environments, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting equipment. Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for professional and effective interaction with clients. Licensing: A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel to client sites within the designated service area. (own 2wheeler -added advantage) Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certification in electronics, security systems, or a related field is highly desirable.
