Job Description

The Principal serves as the academic and administrative head of the school, responsible for ensuring effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum, maintaining high academic standards, and fostering a safe, disciplined, and child-centered learning environment. The Principal provides leadership to teachers, students, and support staff, and ensures smooth day-to-day functioning of the school in alignment with CBSE norms and the institution’s vision. Key Responsibilities:- 1. Academic Leadership Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum across all grades. Oversee preparation of academic year plans, lesson plans, annual pedagogical plans, and assessment schedules. Monitor syllabus completion, teaching quality, classroom practices, and learning outcomes. Guide teachers in teaching techniques, subject enrichment, remedial plans, and innovative instructional strategies. Ensure timely conduct of periodic tests, term exams, and formative assessments. 2. Administration & Operations Manage overall school operations, including timetables, duty charts, attendance, transport, and campus discipline. Supervise admissions, registrations, documentation, and record maintenance as per CBSE norms. Ensure safety, security, hygiene, and smooth functioning of all departments (academics, office, transport, housekeeping, etc.). Coordinate with the management and central office for implementation of policies and directives. 3. Staff Leadership & Development Conduct regular meetings, classroom observations, feedback sessions, and professional development programs. Establish a positive work culture, teamwork, and accountability among staff members. 4. Student Development & Welfare Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and child-friendly environment. Ensure implementation of co-curricular activities, sports, art, cultural programs, and competitions. Oversee discipline, counseling, safety, and overall well-being of students. Promote student leadership, participation, and holistic development. 5. CBSE Compliance Ensure adherence to all CBSE rules, guidelines, and mandatory documentation. Oversee preparation of school records, UDISE, LOC, exam records, affiliation and inspection requirements. Maintain audit-ready documentation such as student files, staff files, safety norms, mandatory disclosures, etc. 6. Parent Communication & Public Relations Build positive communication with parents through PTMs, school events, and timely updates. Address parent concerns with clarity, patience, and professionalism. Represent the school with external agencies, academic bodies, and community stakeholders. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in any discipline (preferably M.Ed / B.Ed). Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience + 3–5 years of leadership/administrative experience. Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, NEP guidelines, assessments, and academic planning. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
