We are seeking a dynamic and strategic professional to lead our Phenol, Resorcinol, etc category within the chemical manufacturing business. The Category Head will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, and ensuring profitability of the Phenol, Resorcinol, etc business line. This role demands strong market knowledge, customer relationship management, and the ability to translate business strategy into execution.
Define and implement the sales strategy for the Phenol, Resorcinol, etc category to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Identify new business opportunities, customer segments, and geographies for expansion.
Lead pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies for Phenol, Resorcinol, etc products.
Build long-term commercial relationships and repeat revenue streams.
Drive business development initiatives with existing and new customers in industries such as
Plastics & Polymers, Adhesives & Wood, Automotive, Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Agrochemicals, Textiles, Personal Care / Cosmetics, Electronics, etc.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and partners.
Negotiate and finalize high-value contracts to maximize margins and long-term partnerships.
Own P&L responsibility for the Phenol, Resorcinol, etc category.
Analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and customer insights to optimize sales approach.
Collaborate with production, supply chain, R&D, and marketing teams to align product availability and innovation with market demand.
Lead a team of sales professionals and ensure capability building within the category.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
Represent the company in industry forums, exhibitions, and trade conferences.
Leverage deep knowledge of Phenol, Resorcinol, and adjacent product chains to identify sourcing opportunities, product gaps, and downstream potential.
Navigate the complexities of commodity vs specialty markets.
Entrepreneurial DNA: Youve built or scaled categories/business units in fast-paced, zero-to-one or one-to-ten environments.
Industry Expertise: 10 - 15 years of experience in chemicals particularly Phenol, Resorcinol, or allied intermediates.
Strategic Leadership: You think big, move fast, and inspire action. Ability to drive both immediate results and long-term positioning.
People Leadership: Proven experience managing small teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
