Role Overview:
As the Finance Dynamics F&O Solution Architect, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing the end-to-end solution architecture for the Finance workstream within Fusion. You will ensure the F&O platform is configured, extended, and integrated in alignment with business objectives, architecture standards, and strategic outcomes — supporting transition into BAU operations.
You’ll act as the bridge between business stakeholders, delivery teams, and technical specialists to deliver a scalable, robust, and compliant Finance solution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the architecture and solution design for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations within the Fusion program, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architecture and data strategy.
Translate complex finance and accounting requirements (e.g., GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, budgeting, and cost allocations) into scalable D365 F&O solutions.
- Integration Architecture:
Design and govern integrations between D365 F&O and other Fusion systems — including Salesforce, data warehouse (Azure), and external third-party systems.
Guide functional and technical consultants, developers, and integrators to ensure adherence to solution designs and Microsoft best practices.
Ensure the solution complies with internal financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, IFRS).
Work closely with Finance SMEs, Product Owners, and the Fusion leadership team to validate requirements and shape the solution roadmap.
- Performance & Scalability:
Ensure high system performance, data integrity, and security across environments.
Support handover of solution design and support models into BAU and managed service partners post go-live.
Key Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Dynamics 365 F&O / Dynamics AX Solution Architect with at least one full-cycle implementations in large-scale, complex environments.
- Worldpay and Direct Debit gateways knowledge.
- Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes, including multi-entity consolidation, financial reporting, and intercompany transactions.
- Deep technical understanding of D365 F&O architecture, Power Platform, Azure integration services (Logic Apps, Data Factory, Service Bus), and Dataverse.
- Experience designing and implementing interfaces between D365 and enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, data lake, BI, etc.).
- Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation and design artefacts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across both technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a program environment with multiple delivery squads (e.g., Agile / scaled Agile model).
- Exposure to Salesforce integration or similar CRM systems.
- Experience with data migration, finance transformations, or post-merger integrations.
- Microsoft Dynamics certification (MB-700, MB-300, MB-310).
