About the role

With the success of our specialist Development and Testing activities based in our Pune office and ambitious growth plans to triple our number of employees in India in the next 18 to 24 months, we are recruiting for a C# developer to help develop webservices to support geospatial websites that provide data to thousands of satisfied customers.

We are currently starting to grow our Geospatial development team both in the UK and Pune and you will have the opportunity to work closely with all levels of the business and influence design decisions to help shape the company websites. The successful applicant will be involved in the design, build and support of numerous projects on the roadmap and will have the opportunity to see their creations come to life in a fast and dynamic working environment.

The company is about to embark on a project of work to upgrade our existing API offering to a market leading experience. A major part of the project is to rewrite the back end processing to create and renew a suite of API’s for the client sites to call. This is where you come in.

Key responsibilities

• Working closely with the UK development team, you will be responsible for creating high quality software that creates new functionality on the company websites

• You will be expected to take the initiative when working with specifications to produce quality testable code that meets the requirements

• You will work closely with analysts and other coders to create great software but you will be expected to share ideas and changes if you think of better ways of coding

• Contribute to product planning and roadmap development. You will be expected to attend standups and voice challenges if they materialise

• Engage with colleagues to refine and estimate packages of work

• Own complex tasks and deliver them to meet commercial and quality objectives

• Monitor and report progress on assigned work, identifying, controlling and reporting on risks

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices

• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in front-end development, sharing knowledge and driving innovation within the team.

To be successful, you’ll need to bring :

• Excellent spoken and written English with clear oral communication skills
• At least 2 years’ experience of :
• Dot.NET 4.7.2 up to .Net 8
• C#
• Entity Framework
• LINQ
• SQL
• JSON
• Proven experience of producing clean, maintainable, and extensible code
• Experience with building and deploying code and working from Technical specifications
• Strong understanding of good software design principles
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Passion for technology and ability to generate new ideas and solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with others in multi-functional teams.
