As a Business Head for Agriculture practice, you will be leading the business growth, project execution, and strategic initiatives in the agriculture sector. S/he will be responsible for driving revenue, managing high-impact projects, and supporting enterprise development - particularly for Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs). This role involves P&L management, business planning, stakeholder engagement, and guiding policy & strategy decisions for both government and private clients. Based in India, you will work closely with clients, internal teams, and external partners to deliver sustainable agribusiness solutions. Primary Responsibilities: Business Development & P&L Management Drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities in agribusiness. Develop and execute business plans for Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), ensuring financial sustainability. Lead proposal development, bid submissions, and pricing strategies to win high-value contracts. Monitor market trends, assess risks, and optimize profitability across projects. Project Implementation & Enterprise Development Oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction. Provide strategic guidance to FPCs, helping them scale operations, improve governance, and enhance market linkages. Manage a team of Business Analysts, ensuring high-quality research, data-driven insights, and effective project management. Work with government agencies and private clients to shape agriculture policies, strategies, and investment decisions. Stakeholder & Client Engagement Build strong relationships with farmers, FPCs, government bodies, and private sector players to drive collaborative growth. Advise stakeholders on best practices in agribusiness, supply chain optimization, and sustainable farming models. Represent the company in key forums, advocating for innovative solutions in agriculture. Team Leadership & Knowledge Building Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Document key insights and lessons from projects to refine methodologies and improve future outcomes. Contribute to thought leadership by publishing reports, case studies, and policy recommendations. Candidate Requirement: 12+ years of experience in agribusiness, FPC development, enterprise consulting, or rural livelihoods or Forestry. Strong background in P&L management, business planning, and project implementation. Proven track record of working with government agencies, private agribusiness firms, and farmer collectives. Excellent leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
