Job Description

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and driving growth for the companys MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) services. This role involves market research, lead generation, networking, proposal development, and strategic planning to expand the company's client base and enhance revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the MEP sector, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, and government entities.
  • Generate leads, follow up on potential clients, and convert prospects into contracts.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.

Market Research & Strategy:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market share.
  • Maintain an updated database of potential clients, projects, and industry contacts.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely project execution and service delivery.

Proposal & Contract Management:

  • Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals, bids, and tenders.
  • Negotiate contract terms and close agreements with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all contract dealings.

Networking & Brand Positioning:

  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and business allies.
  • Enhance the companys brand positioning and visibility in the MEP sector.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical), or a related field.
  • Experience:

    5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing in the MEP industry.
  • Strong understanding of MEP services, project life cycles, and industry standards.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing business revenue.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, codes, and compliance requirements in the MEP sector is a plus.
