Job Description

Primary Title: US Admissions Counselor

About The Opportunity

A rapidly growing international education services firm operating in the US higher-education admissions and student services sector. We deliver end-to-end admissions guidance, test/essay coaching, and pre-departure support for students targeting undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States. This is an on-site role based in India working directly with students, families, and US university partners to drive outcomes.Role & Responsibilities
  • Advise prospective and enrolled students on US undergraduate and graduate admissions pathways—program selection, eligibility mapping, and timelines.
  • Create tailored application plans, coach students on essays/personal statements, and prepare them for admissions interviews.
  • Guide students through standardized test planning (SAT/ACT/TOEFL/IELTS/ GRE/GMAT) and recommend prep strategies or partners as needed.
  • Maintain accurate student records and follow-ups in CRM; track conversion metrics and report weekly counselling KPIs.
  • Provide basic visa guidance and pre-departure briefings; coordinate with immigration/partner teams for complex cases.
  • Build and maintain relationships with university admissions representatives and participate in education fairs, webinars, and campus events.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with 2+ years of hands-on experience in US admissions counseling, study-abroad advising, or university recruitment.
  • Deep working knowledge of US higher-education systems, application components, deadlines, and typical admissions criteria.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; proven ability to coach essays, prepare interview scripts, and communicate with families.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, LeadSquared or equivalent) and strong organizational discipline for follow-ups.
  • Comfortable working on-site in India with flexible hours for occasional evening sessions to match US time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to manage multiple student cases simultaneously.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or related field.
  • Experience with visa procedures and pre-departure logistics for US-bound students.
  • Familiarity with standardized-test landscapes and relationships with test-prep vendors or coaches.
  • Prior experience using data to improve conversion funnels and counselling playbooks.
