Job Description

Job Title: Sales & Store Manager (Spice & Dry-fruit Retail) Location: Bhuleshwar, Mumbai Timing: 9:30 AM – 8:30 PM (with break) Salary: ₹19,000–₹25,000 per month (based on experience) What the role isOwn the daily running and sales of our Bhuleshwar spice store. You’ll lead the floor, manage people and stock, keep quality tight, and hit targets—without losing the warmth customers expect from a neighbourhood store. Key responsibilities Sales & Customer Experience Greet every walk-in, probe needs, and recommend blends, gift boxes, and add-ons. Upsell/cross-sell intelligently: pair spices with complementary items. Handle tastings/sampling hygienically and close the sale. Manage phone/WhatsApp enquiries and convert them to orders. Resolve returns or complaints on the spot and log them for follow-up. Store Operations Open/close the store with a checklist: shutters, cash float, POS Z-report, lights, cleanliness. Keep the shop floor clean: counters, scoops, jars, weighing scales, billing desk. Ensure FSSAI hygiene norms at all times (gloves, hair caps for packing, no cross-contamination). Maintain visual merchandising: neat jars, clear labels/MRP, fresh displays, festive promos. Inventory, Freshness & Quality Follow FIFO/FEFO strictly; rotate stock daily—spices lose aroma fast. Do morning and evening cycle counts for fast-moving SKUs; update shortages. Plan daily grind/pack list (if applicable) and coordinate replenishment. Check moisture, infestation, seal integrity; quarantine and report any quality issue. Receive goods: verify GRN, quantity, batch/lot, expiry, and raise purchase returns if needed. Cash, Billing & Compliance Reconcile cash/UPI/card totals with POS at day end; prepare deposit slips. Maintain petty cash and vendor payment trackers. Keep FSSAI license copy, purchase invoices, pest-control records, and cleaning logs updated. Team Management Make staff rosters and manage weekly offs; ensure full coverage at peak hours. Train counter staff on product knowledge, hygiene, greeting script, and add-on selling. Track attendance and basic discipline; address performance gaps with coaching. Vendor & Replenishment Place timely purchase orders based on min-max levels and seasonality. Negotiate rates and schemes where relevant; follow up on deliveries and shortages. Loss Prevention & Safety Monitor high-value items and shrinkage; ensure CCTV and basic safety norms. Enforce clean scooping and weighing protocols to avoid wastage. Reporting & Targets Keep simple daily sheets: sales, footfall estimate, conversion, average bill value, top SKUs, wastage. Share weekly summary with owner: wins, issues, actions needed.
