Manufacturing industry is Hiring Manager / Sr Manager Purchase : Chennai
Industry: Brewery
Scope: PAN India operations covering 7 locations (5 own, 2 tie-up)
Team : one purchase executive and junior executive will be reporting to
1. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Management
Oversee the complete P2P cycle, ensuring timely and efficient procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and other requirements.
Develop and maintain standardized procurement processes across all locations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and statutory regulations.
2. Cost Analysis and Budgeting
Conduct cost analysis and prepare cost workings for all raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Work with finance and production teams to develop cost-efficient strategies without compromising quality.
Monitor and track spending against budgets, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
3. Order Management and Supplier Payments
Ensure timely placement of purchase orders based on accurate demand forecasts.
Coordinate with suppliers for on-time delivery and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Manage invoice accounting and ensure timely payment to suppliers, resolving disputes if any.
4. Inventory Control and Optimization
Implement efficient inventory management practices to ensure optimal inventory levels at all locations.
Drive initiatives to achieve quick inventory turnover and minimize working capital.
Monitor stock movements and reduce instances of stockouts or overstocking.
5. Market Analysis and Cost Reduction
Regularly monitor market trends for raw materials and packaging materials, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve the best possible value for the organization.
Develop contingency plans to address market volatilities or supply chain disruptions.
6. Management Information System (MIS) and Reporting
Prepare and maintain detailed MIS reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, cost metrics, and supplier performance.
Present actionable insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
7. Vendor Quality Management
Develop and enforce vendor selection criteria, ensuring suppliers meet quality and compliance standards.
Conduct regular audits of vendors, focusing on quality, delivery timelines, and adherence to agreements.
Establish a vendor rating and evaluation system to track performance and support decision-making for long-term collaborations.
8. Team Coordination and Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, logistics, and finance to ensure seamless operations.
Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals to drive efficiency and innovation in procurement processes.
Develop training programs to upskill the team and align them with organizational goals
