Job Title: Bar Manager

Department: Food & Beverage
Location: Hotel / Bar / Lounge
Reporting To: F&B Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Bar Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the bar, ensuring high-quality beverage service, guest satisfaction, cost control, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards. The role includes staff management, inventory control, menu planning, and maintaining a premium bar experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesBar Operations

  • Oversee daily bar operations and service standards
  • Ensure smooth bar setup, closing, and shift management
  • Maintain bar ambiance, cleanliness, and presentation

Guest Service

  • Ensure excellent guest interaction and service delivery
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests professionally
  • Build rapport with regular guests and promote repeat business

Staff Management

  • Train, supervise, and schedule bartenders and bar stewards
  • Monitor staff performance and grooming standards
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and service etiquette

Beverage Management

  • Plan beverage menus including cocktails, mocktails, and spirits
  • Maintain standard recipes and portion control
  • Introduce new drinks and promotional offerings

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor stock levels, wastage, and breakage
  • Conduct daily and monthly bar stock audits
  • Control beverage costs and minimize pilferage

Billing & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate billing and cash handling
  • Comply with local excise laws and legal regulations
  • Maintain licenses and statutory records

Hygiene & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar equipment and storage areas
  • Enforce safety procedures for staff and guests

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management preferred
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails, and bar operations
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems and inventory management
  • Ability to work flexible shifts

Experience

  • 3–6 years experience in bar operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role

Pay: ₹35,104.61 - ₹43,446.08 per month
