Position: Automation & Digital Manufacturing Specialist
Department: Manufacturing / Digital Transformation
Role Overview: We are seeking an innovative and technically strong professional to lead automation ideation and technology initiatives on the shop floor. The role involves conducting machine and process studies, evaluating data sources, and designing integrated workflows for smart manufacturing and digital transformation. The candidate will work extensively with IoT devices, edge analytics, embedded controls, and manufacturing analytics to enable real-time data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Process Optimization Lead shop floor, machine, and process studies to identify opportunities for automation and digital integration.
Support optimized solutions by aligning machine/process data with project objectives.
Enable data fidelity and source-level data collection for seamless integration across workflows.
IoT & Edge Technology IntegrationWork with IoT sensors, actuators, and interfaces for real-time data acquisition.
Manage data extraction, edge calculations, and parameter sampling validation.
Implement embedded controls and edge analysis for data normalization and transformation.
Design scenarios for fault prediction, performance monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
Manufacturing Analytics & VisualizationDevelop edge analytics solutions with signal-data transformation.
Create scenario models at Machine-Line-Shop levels to enhance efficiency.
Drive manufacturing analytics for machines and processes, identifying trends and optimization opportunities.
Design intuitive visualizations and interfaces to support digitization initiatives and operator decision-making.
Data Standardization & IntegrationConsolidate methods for data generation from devices and sensors.
Develop sensorics solutions for power, machine, and process visualization.
Standardize machine cycles and categorize data for MES terminals and manufacturing devices.
Enable data input at critical touchpoints across the manufacturing value chain.
Facilitate supplier process data transfer for end-to-end integration.
Technology Evaluation & StandardizationEvaluate new technologies for project implementation.
Drive standardization of digital interface modules (hardware/software/embedded) for shop-floor data integration.
Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in industrial automation, IoT, and manufacturing digitization projects.
Strong knowledge of IoT sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and edge analytics.
Experience with data transformation, visualization tools, and manufacturing analytics platforms.
Understanding of MES, shop floor data integration, and control systems.
Ability to conceptualize and implement fault prediction and performance monitoring models.
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills.
