Associate Staff Engineer

Job Position: Associate Staff Engineer / Staff Engineer/SDE-2/SDE-3

Experience: 5-12 Years

Location: Thane, Maharashtra

Mode: Onsite

Timing: 8:00 am – 5:00 Pm

Key Responsibilities

· Develop backend services using NodeJS and Python (FastAPI or similar) for new features and maintenance.

· Design, implement and maintain database schemas and queries with PostgreSQL, optimize performance.

· Use Redis for caching, message brokering, or realtime data needs.

· Integrate GenAI / LLM capabilities (at a basic level) to support features: prompt engineering, evaluation, embedding etc.

· Work with WebRTC for any real-time communication/data streaming components.

· Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g. via Jenkins or other tools) to ensure smooth automated build/test/deploy cycles.

· Deploy and operate services on GCP with good practices: reliability, security, scaling, monitoring, cost-optimization.

· Contribute to technical architecture & design decisions: trade-offs around performance, scalability, maintainability.

· Define and follow best practices, coding standards, and ensure code quality (code reviews, testing, documentation).

· Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, and post mortems.

· Mentor/coach more junior engineers, share knowledge in the team.

· Collaborate with PMs, product, QA, operations, security teams to deliver high quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Strong proficiency in NodeJS and Python, in real production settings.

· Familiarity with FastAPI or similar frameworks (like Flask, Django, Express etc.).

· Good understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, strong SQL skills, query optimization.

· Experience using Redis (caching, pub/sub, ephemeral data stores etc.).

· Some exposure to GenAI / LLM technology: basic usage, integration, prompt generation, handling embeddings etc.

· Experience with WebRTC or realtime communication protocols; at least a solid understanding of its challenges (latency, NAT traversal etc.).

· Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices; experience with Jenkins or equivalent.

· Working knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP): containerization, load balancing, managed services, IAM, networking.

· Good software engineering practices: testing (unit, integration), code reviews, performance optimization, monitoring/logging.

· Strong problem-solving, debugging skills; ability to analyze system performance and bottlenecks.

· Good communication skills; ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

· Self-driven, able to work with moderate supervision; able to take initiative and propose improvements.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

· Experience with designing or working with A2A (Application-to-Application) communication / integrations.

· Familiarity with MCP, ADK (if these refer to specific internal / industry SDKs / frameworks).
