Job Description

Role Overview: As an Associate Staff Engineer at Silicon Labs, you will be joining the Matter Stack team to contribute to the development and optimization of embedded software for smart home and IoT applications. Your role will require strong technical expertise in embedded systems, C++, and wireless protocols, as well as the ability to mentor team members and drive technical excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components for the Matter protocol stack. - Lead technical initiatives and guide the team in solving complex engineering challenges. - Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Matter with Wi-Fi and Thread-based platforms. - Perform hands-on debugging using industry-standard tools (e.g., JTAG, GDB, Logic Analyzers). - Optimize performance and reliability of embedded systems in resource-constrained environments. - Contribute to protocol compliance, certification, and interoperability testing. - Participate in architecture discussions and technical documentation. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field. - 8+ years of experience in embedded systems development. - Strong proficiency in C++, with a deep understanding of memory management, concurrency, and object-oriented design. - Proven experience in hands-on debugging of embedded systems using tools like GDB, JTAG, and trace analyzers. - Solid understanding of Wi-Fi protocols, including 802.11 standards, WPA/WPA2, and IP networking. - Familiarity with RTOS environments and low-level hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C). - Demonstrated experience in mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.
