Job Title: Associate Project Manager – Publishing

Location: Bangalore – On-site
Department: Creative Services
Reports To: Operations Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of publishing projects across print and digital formats. This role is ideal for someone passionate about content, timelines, and team collaboration. You will work closely with editors, designers, production teams, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of publishing projects, including editorial, design, and production stages.
  • Track project milestones, update schedules, and maintain documentation in project management tools.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Supervisor, Designers, Proofreaders) and external partners (Client, Vendors etc).
  • Monitor workflows and proactively flag risks or delays to the Client.
  • Help maintain project budgets and support invoice tracking and vendor communications.
  • Ensure compliance with publishing standards, rights, and permissions.
  • Facilitate review cycles, proof approvals, and quality control checks.
  • Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and support follow-up tasks.
  • Contribute to process improvements and documentation of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with relevant experience in publishing and project management.
  • 2–4 years of experience in publishing, editorial, production, or a project management role.
  • Strong communication skill, both written and verbal are essential.
  • Familiarity with publishing workflows and tools (InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of common project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Smartsheet, Jira) is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for keeping teams and tasks aligned.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A strong interest in books and the publishing industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of publishing production workflows (e.g., copyediting, proofreading, design, printing).
  • Experience working with authors or external creative professionals.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹550,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
