Position Summary The South Zone operations team is at an exciting stage of having launched new projects in Karnataka. We are seeking a young professional who can contribute to critical aspects of these projects and support the project lead in driving towards crucial outputs and outcomes. Engaging with primary and secondary research, building government relations, and implementing critical aspects of the project will be essential for this role. The role may also involve supporting operations in other states in the South zone as per project requirements. Role and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include: Project Operations Operational Management : Support the day-to-day operations of projects within designated states, ensuring strict adherence to project terms and scope of work. Cross-functional collaboration : Coordinate with various teams within IA to drive key project outputs and outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement Government Relations: Engage with government officials at multiple levels on specific project aspects. This includes working out of a government office a few days a week. Community Outreach: Engage with citizens from economically and socially disadvantaged groups across diverse geographical areas. This entails travelling to rural and urban locations across the zone for consultations and data collection. Partnership Development: Foster on-ground partnerships with local NGOs and other civil society organisations. Research & Documentation Secondary Research: Undertake secondary research/landscape analysis on government policies and programmes - in alignment with the state priorities. Primary Research: Conduct primary data collection exercises (qualitative and quantitative) as per the state/ project requirements. Welfare Delivery Analysis: Understand and document key aspects of the welfare delivery process. Documentation : Support the preparation of collaterals such as pitch decks, policy briefs, blogs, academic articles, and white papers to present research outcomes to stakeholders clearly and engagingly. Monitoring & Evaluation M&E Planning: Contribute to developing and implementing the monitoring and evaluation plan for projects Assess Project Impact: Align project metrics with the organisation M&E framework for assessing project outcomes and measuring success against defined indicators. M&E Reporting: Adopt the existing organisational M&E Tools and/or platforms for efficient project reporting. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Educational Background: A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, or a related field is preferred. Experience: Previous experience in project implementation and/or research roles, particularly within non-profit or governmental organisations, is advantageous. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting research findings effectively to diverse audiences. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while being self-motivated. Language proficiency : Ability to read and speak Kannada is essential. Working knowledge of Hindi or another South Indian Language will be an added advantage. Benefits Compensation The compensation will be based on Indus Action‘s compensation benchmarking rubric. The range of compensation will depend on the qualifications, experience, and fit for the role. The candidate would need to use his/her own laptop and the organisation will bear the annual maintenance cost upto INR 12,000 per year as per actuals.
