Job Description

1. Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in overall store operations, staff management, inventory control, customer service, dispatch activities, and ensuring smooth daily workflow. This role requires leadership skills, attention to detail, and strong coordination across departments.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Store Operations

  • Assist in day-to-day store/warehouse operations.
  • Ensure all activities are completed as per SOPs.
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety, and discipline on the floor.
  • Supervise receiving, storing, stacking & dispatching of goods.
  • Maintain store decorum and ensure professional behaviour among staff.

B. Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and prevent shortages/overstock.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly stock audits.
  • Ensure proper labeling, binning, and material handling.
  • Coordinate with purchase, logistics, and accounts regarding stock movement.

C. Team Leadership & Staff Handling

  • Supervise store staff, assign daily tasks, and monitor productivity.
  • Train and guide teams to follow compliance and safety rules.
  • Maintain staff discipline and resolve operational conflicts.
  • Ensure employees are not involved in gossip or non-productive behaviour.

D. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain GRN, challans, stock registers, and dispatch documents.
  • Prepare daily, weekly & monthly reports for management.
  • Ensure accurate entry of items in ERP/Software.

E. Customer & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate with clients for dispatch queries.
  • Handle vendor follow-ups for incoming materials.
  • Address customer complaints related to delays or stock issues.

F. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed inside the warehouse/store.
  • Maintain records as per company policy and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate during audits and inspections.

3. Required Skills

  • Strong leadership & people management.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Excel, Email, ERP software).
  • Inventory & store management understanding.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
