Job Description

The Assistant Professor – Product Design (Physical & Digital) will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development across physical product design, UI/UX, and digital prototyping, with a strong emphasis on hands-on studio learning, industry relevance, and research-driven design processes.The role demands an educator who can seamlessly integrate materials, manufacturing, prototyping, and human-centered digital experiences within contemporary design education.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Master’s degree in Product Design / Industrial Design / Integrated Design / UI-UX / Allied Design Disciplines.● Bachelor’s degree in Product Design / Industrial Design / Fashion & Lifestyle Product Design / Related Fields.● Strong grounding in physical product design: materials, manufacturing, prototyping, and form development.● Strong expertise in UI/UX and digital product design, including user research and interaction design.● Proficiency in industry-relevant tools such as: Fusion 360, 3ds Max, Key-shot, Prototyping & fabrication workflows. ● Experience in teaching, mentoring, or academic coordination is highly desirable.● Ability to translate industry practices into academic pedagogy. ● Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff. ● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.● Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for all learners. Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and deliver studio-based courses in physical product design, digital product design, and UI/UX with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning.2. Guide learners through the complete design process including research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and final execution for both physical and digital outcomes.3. Facilitate material exploration, model-making, and rapid prototyping using traditional methods and digital fabrication tools such as CAD and 3D printing.4. Teach user-centered design principles, interaction design, and usability evaluation for digital and hybrid product experiences.5. Mentor learners in developing industry-ready portfolios, competition entries, and real-world design projects.6. Assess learner work through juries, reviews, assignments, and presentations, providing constructive and actionable feedback.7. Contribute to curriculum development, course planning, and continuous academic improvement aligned with evolving industry practices.8. Collaborate with faculty, industry professionals, and external partners for workshops, live projects, and academic initiatives.9. Support learner growth through academic advising, studio mentoring, and participation in institutional events and reviews.Benefits
