Assistant Production Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising jewellery manufacturing operations to ensure timely production, quality standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution

• Assist in production planning as per sales orders, design schedules, and delivery timelines.
• Monitor daily production activities including casting, filing, setting, polishing, and finishing.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

Quality Control

• Ensure jewellery products meet defined quality standards for design, weight, finish, and stone setting.
• Coordinate with QC teams to reduce rejections, rework, and wastage.
• Implement continuous improvement practices in production processes.

Manpower & Workflow Management

• Supervise production staff, artisans, and operators on the shop floor.
• Allocate work and monitor productivity of teams.
• Assist in training and skill development of workers.

Material & Inventory Control

• Monitor gold, diamond, gemstone, and consumable usage.
• Ensure accurate documentation of material movement and recovery.
• Coordinate with stores/accounts for stock reconciliation and loss prevention.

Process Improvement & Cost Control

• Identify bottlenecks and support process optimization initiatives.
• Help control production costs, wastage, and metal loss.
• Support implementation of SOPs and best manufacturing practices.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with design, R&D, QC, maintenance, and dispatch teams.
• Prepare daily/weekly production and efficiency reports.
• Escalate issues related to delays, quality, or manpower to management.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety norms, and statutory regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
