Assistant Manager-Purchase

Role Overview: You will be responsible for efficiently managing procurement activities across key commodities such as textiles, yarns, chemicals, resins, PVC, etc. Your role involves driving vendor development, ensuring timely material availability, optimizing costs, and aligning with production and inventory goals. Key Responsibilities: - Demand & Forecast Planning: - Understand monthly production demand and sales forecast. - Plan material requirements based on forecast and business strategy. - Procurement & Vendor Negotiation: - Source and procure materials from existing and new suppliers. - Negotiate all commercial terms (pricing, credit terms, delivery timelines, etc.). - Release purchase orders (POs) in line with procurement policies. - Vendor Development & Management: - Develop new vendors to ensure alternate sourcing for critical materials. - Drive vendors for adherence to quality, delivery, and quantity commitments. - Conduct vendor audits and performance evaluations. - Delivery & Logistics Coordination: - Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and avoid production delays. - Coordinate logistics where freight is in buyers scope, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery. - Inventory & Cost Management: - Monitor stock levels and strive to achieve inventory targets. - Implement cost reduction strategies and maintain procurement within budgets. - Quality & Compliance: - Ensure procured materials meet internal quality standards and specifications. - Address non-conformance issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders. - Internal & External Coordination: - Liaise with planning, production, quality, stores, and finance teams. - Maintain strong communication with external vendors and service providers. Qualification Required: - Education: B.E. in Textile, Plastics, or Polymers - Experience: 6-8 years in Procurement in the Textile/Knitting/PVC Flooring/Resin/Chemical/Yarn industry Additional Details: No additional details provided in the job description.
