Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians across multiple retail locations in the region

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of building systems

Oversee capital improvement projects and renovations within the retail portfolio

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations and safety

Collaborate with property management teams to address tenant concerns and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts

Analyze and optimize energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Prepare and manage annual budgets for engineering operations and capital expenditures

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality standards

Implement and maintain emergency response protocols for the retail properties

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field

Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

Extensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems

Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles

Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects and teams

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software

Professional certifications such as PE, FMP, or CBCP are preferred

Willingness to travel within the assigned region
